![]() ![]() Boseman played T'Challa, the eponymous Black Panther and King of Wakanda, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - appearing in Captain America: Civil War, both Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, and Black Panther. Plans for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever changed dramatically back in August 2020 with the announcement of star Chadwick Boseman's tragic death. But the big question that lingers – who is that in the Black Panther suit at the end of the trailer? Will Chadwick Boseman be in Black Panther 2 ? The teaser also (very sneakily, might we add) introduces Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams AKA Ironheart, a new Iron Man-adjacent superhero who will get her own series on Disney+ next year. It certainly looks as though this'll be a globe-trotting affair, with scenes on urban streets, in Wakanda itself, and deep below the sea (that's Namor territory).Īnd could that be Letitia Wright's Shuri taking up the Black Panther mantel? Most excitingly for the MCU faithful, we get a shot of Dominique Thorne's Ironheart in her Iron Man-esque armour, zipping about in the nighttime skyline of an undetermined city. Later, we see big bad guy Namor, portrayed by Tenoch Huerta, take to his throne in quite the sabre-rattling manner (you don't get more warmonger-y than a throne decorated by the skeletal jaws of a shark). It makes more of a point of introducing the key story beats we can expect from Ryan Coogler's MCU sequel: first, we see more of the lavish funeral for Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, though we're yet to get a clear sense of how the actor's unexpected death will be approached in-universe. Yes! As it tends to go with Marvel's marketing strat, a big new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released on 3 October, just five weeks prior to release. Here's everything else we know about Black Panther 2. ![]()
